Challenge

The Washington State Legislature hired a full-service communications consultant as part of an extensive remodel to repair earthquake damage in Olympia, WA. An entrance room layout with outside service entrance routing grew into a peer review of communications design and more of a technology coordination role.

In its work with the Washington State Legislature, COMgroup provided infrastructure design, service provider coordination and technology systems project management to develop a design for a multi-provider communications service entrance room. The project also included a peer review of communications infrastructure, coordination of a new in-building distributed antenna system (DAS) to support 800 MHz to 2.4 GHz and construction administration. Services included:
 

  • Service provider coordination to relocate provider outside plant underground cabling to newly constructed pathways
  • Peer review of horizontal in-building cabling system design
  • Design of communications backbone cabling system
  • Design of cable television (CATV) horizontal and backbone system

Results:
